The 6th GALF Meeting Held in Shanghai, China

The 6th Global Audit Leadership Forum (GALF) Meeting was held in Shanghai, China from April 8 to 9, 2019.

 

At the meeting, 41 delegates representing the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) of 15 countries and regions discussed on Big Data and Audit and Improve Public Accountability through Environmental Auditing. The representative from SAI Japan shared their audit practices of energy-saving and emission reduction, renewable energy and river embankment. Representatives from the SAI India elaborated a case on environmental auditing, exemplifying their good practice in advancing public accountability. Other representatives also delivered opinions on joint environmental audit mechanism, challenges of environmental audit, and environment damage accountability endeavors. The representatives agreed that countries should jointly address outstanding issues such as governance, trust, peace and development, establish a joint audit mechanism across borders, and build a community with a shared future for humanity.

 

Prior to the discussion of the second topic, a short video on SAI Chinas Environmental Audit Advancing Accountability for Eco-Environmental Governance was played and a stage drama on tenure-based natural resources accountability audit  was performed.

 

Ms Hu Zejun, Auditor General of National Audit Office of China attended the meeting and Mr Ying Yong, major of Shanghai, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.
