On December 6, 2022, the Working Group on Environmental Auditing under the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI WGEA) held an online training session on the topic of "Carbon Reduction Audit" through video conferencing. The training, which is a great success, has attracted about 60 auditors from 12 member countries, including the Philippines. Two international experts were invited to give lectures at the training, one from Thailand and the other from China. Mr. Sutthi Suntharanurak, Director of the International Affairs Office of the State Audit Office of the Kingdom of Thailand, introduced the researches and findings in Thailand's climate change adaptation audit; and Dr. Xu Yinshuo, Assistant Researcher of the Green Economy and Regional Transformation Research Institute at Central University of Finance and Economics, introduced the progress of global and China’s climate adaptation funding. Participants from Maldives and other countries actively joined in the questioning and discussion about the presentations of the two experts combined with the auditing practices of different countries.

This is the second online training session held by ASOSAI WGEA since 2020. It aims to continuously expand the horizon of auditing, broaden the mind and improve work capacity of each member country by conducting online trainings on hot topics in international resource and environmental audits. In the future, the ASOSAI WGEA Secretariat will continue to organize relevant trainings on topics that are of interest to member countries to improve the work performance in resource and environmental audits in Asia.
